INTRODUCTION

Teachers are crucial and important components of any university system. From the inception of the University, we have placed a premium on the need for nurturing the faculty members. The culture of Training of Trainers (ToT) has taken firm roots in our organisational culture. In fact, taking lessons from the rich history of conducting ToT, we now have scaled up this effort by establishing the RGUHS Academic & Administrative Training Institute (RAATI) in July 2019, as the focal force to drive all the academic related capacity-building of teachers and educational leaders in the University system which has designed and implemented need specific training verticals –

  1. Foundation Course in Educational Methodology (FCEM)
  2. Basic Course in Educational Methodology (BCEM) and
  3. Short Course in Educational Methodology (SCEM).

RAATI is in the process of introducing – Fellowship in Health Professionals’ Education (FHPE)

Master Trainers’ Pathway

RGUHS Academic & Administrative Training Institute – the RAATI was established as a platform and medium to expand opportunities to train teachers and postgraduates in the areas related to educational methodology.

To ensure that such a mass-level project is feasible, it is essential to make an inclusive progress with the teachers taking the lead and responsibility as lead trainers. To operationalise this, we have established a career pathway, whereby the teachers who are interested to be the master trainers undergo a series of training and screening by RAATI.
As of now, the prospective lead trainers will undertake a Short Course on Educational Methodology on blended mode over three-month duration. After its successful completion, they will appear for a three-day BootCamp for screening on various dimensions of academics, leadership, and teamwork.

Those who succeed and are committed to the Core Values of RAATI will be included as Master Trainers for FCEM, BCEM, and SCEM. Those who are interested to join this team may submit their expression of interest through the online application form.
